I have an obsession with the arts because you always find the most creative people in the world within artsy fields. Neysa Bové is an illustrator you have to know about.
She has worked at Disney, Mattel, and Barbie lending her talents of designing, graphic designing, and drawing. Her blog, Neysa Bove, showcases why she loves fashion.
Q: What do you love about fashion illustration?
I love that fashion illustration has no boundaries. You can create any fantastic world or instance that you think up. I love to draw in the details of apparel, such us buttons, pockets and ruffles. I think my favorite part is doing the makeup and the face.
Q: What was the first fashion illustration you ever done? Was it a good attempt?
The first fashion illustration that I ever did was in high school art class, it was more of a period piece like 17th century Marie Antoinette, came out oddly interesting.
Q: I notice you draw a lot of awesome fashion bloggers. What inspired you to start a series of drawings featuring top fashion bloggers?
I love to draw high fashion models such as Abbey Lee, but I was particularly drawn to bloggers because as “every day normal people” they deserve a lot more credit that they get. These are pretty young girls that are fashion savvy and have such interesting ways to wear outfits, very inspiring.
Q: What is your favorite kind of shoe to wear? Also, what are three pairs of shoes you currently have on your wish list?
I have two favorite kinds of shoes to wear, platforms because they make me look taller, and cowboy boots because they’re awesomely versatile and comfortable.
Three pairs of shoes on my wish list at the moment are: the new Jeffrey Campbell “Register” wedges in pink, Alexander Wang “Kasia” wedge, and the Jeffrey Campbell “Mary Lou” in white or blue
